What Lies Beyond
What's up guys. This week, I found a beautiful picture of a sunset to use to drive our story. Today's post is inspired by the blissful moments spent with good company, good food, great music and great views. Also I'm missing summer a little bit. I can't wait to return to the beach.
Anyways, here's the story I came up with. Enjoy the vibes.

One word; sublime.
No doubt it's one of his favorite past times. Watching the sunset on the beach with some friends was the closest thing to heaven on earth. Sometimes they all take a dip in the water for a quick swim; other times they pull out the picnic blankets and watch the waves crash onto the shore.
Trey lost count of the number of days he's spent out here. With Autumn getting ready for it's graceful entrance, he had to make sure the crew snuck in one last watch before summer ended. Kai, Oscar and Cory all decided to practice their back floats in the water but Trey wanted to bask in this moment on dry land.
"Trey, check it out!" said Tate. Tate was his little sister who decided to tag along with him and his friends. Obviously, it wasn't his choice to bring her, seeing how she snuck into the back seat of his Jeep, but he had done a good job ignoring her up until now. She nudges at him until he finally sits up to see what the fuss is about. He traces his sister's gaze as she points at the boat drifting across the ocean in the distance. The mainsail seems unusually large.
"Isn't it beautiful!?" she said. He sort of shrugs it off and tries to lay back down but his sister won't let him, pulling on his arms and legs until he sits up again.
"C'mon, Trey. Let's do the thing where we make up a story!" Trey shakes his head, making her pull even harder. Kai, Oscar and Cory all return from the water, laughing as they note Trey getting dragged around.
"Everything alright you two?" said Kai. "What did Trey do?" Trey cuts his eyes. Kai turns to Tate and waits patiently for her to answer.
"Trey won't play with me!" she exclaims.
"I'll play with you Tate," said Oscar. "What's the game?"
"We're using our imagination to figure out where that boat is going." said Tate. "I think it's coming back from a year-long trip around the world. Oh, and they have treasure chests filled with candy on board from all the countries they visited!"
Snickering rings from the group. Trey notes the sadness in Tate's eyes and finally decides to cave in to his sister's desire.
"Or, maybe they were searching for hidden treasure on an island far far away and are finally returning home filthy rich with chests filled with treasure," said Trey. "Maybe if we shout loud enough, they will come by and throw us some gold!"
Everyone bursts out with 'Oo's and aw's', holding in their laughter as Tate jumps up, her eyes twinkling with excitement. She runs to the shore, her feet kicking the sand and water up as she starts screaming at the boat in hopes that her cries will reach it. Even Trey can't help but crack a smile.
"Way to go Trey," said Kai. "Now she looks crazy."
"But she's so adorable," said Cory. " I mean, look at her!"
"Yeah, she's adorable at first but then she quickly becomes annoying," said Trey. Everyone scoffs, turning to watch the little girl jump up and down with joy.
"C'mon guys," said Kai. "Let's go get ourselves some gold." Cory slaps Oscar in the chest before running up to Kai. Oscar is about to chase after him but turns to extend his hand to Trey.
"Summer's outro? I knew it. C'mon, let's enjoy it."
It takes a minute but Trey grabs Oscar's hand, jumping to his his feet before slowly approaching the rest of the gang.
Collectively, they all begin to scream out into the ocean hoping to get any response from the boat. Kai tries her hardest to out-shout everyone while Cory and Oscar seem to be screaming at each other more so than at the boat. Tate decides to walk up to her brother, pointing to his back. Trey nods and immediately kneels so she can climb on. He lifts her up onto his shoulders and together they continue to scream. It's a cacophony of madness; summer's perfect goodbye.
Then, just when they are about to stop, the boat's bells start to ring. The gang begins to yelp and cheer in response as a few people on the boat wave in the distance. Everyone starts splashing water all around themselves, not caring who gets wet.
Kai starts to splash water at Trey and Tate as the siblings try to get away. Tate holds onto her brother's head for dear life, bursting out in laughter as she tries to dodge Kai's attacks. Oscar and Cory decided to join in but make the conscious decision to turn on Kai, ganging up on her to toss her into the water.
It's a cacophony of madness; summer's perfect goodbye.

Guess I'll end it here but before I do, I want to ask a question. What story do you see in this image and what's your interpretation of it? Let me know what y'all think.
Enjoy the rest of the week! Go out and enjoy yourself, take pictures, eat cake. All that good stuff. Until next time.
Later.
