If you know, you know! For those of you who are probably wondering what Jet Set Radio Future is, let us tell you about what is probably the best game that's ever been created for the original Xbox. Now we know we may sound biased but to be honest, It would be a crime to not tell you guys about this game. If you are a lover of all things pop culture, street culture and overall chill vibes, you're going to love this.
So, allow us to take you into the world of Jet Set Radio Future.
Set in a futuristic Tokyo-like city, you start off with a crazy, funky introduction by the dopest and illest DJs of all time, DJ Professor K. Tuning you into the hottest radio station, Jet Set Radio, Professor K gives you the run down on what's happening in the streets: A megacorporation enforcing their laws while stripping the city of color and draining the life out of its citizens. Freedom of speech, expression and any sort of creativity is damn near obsolete while the crooked militia strike fear in the hearts of many.
But one particular group of kids ain't having it. Nah, they're not about to let anybody, and we mean ANYBODY, stop them from having fun and expressing themselves. And so, we are introduced to the coolest and flyest group of kids: The GGs.
A crew of extreme skaters determined to tear the streets up with their groovy dance moves and unique style. I'm talking about crazy graffiti artists tagging up the city while blasting the tracks from Jet Set Radio as they roller skate around the city in style. There are other street crews you run into and battle/race against but the GGs are undefeated. With a plethora of characters to unlock, everybody has their own unique style and identity even as they join the crew.
The game is basically an explosion of pop and street culture. It's a game that both looks and feels cool and truth be told, we owe everything to this game. Our whole identity was pretty much forged from it ever since it came out back in 2002. It's been one of dopest things we draw inspiration from and we think you all should get the chance to play this masterpiece. Hopefully, you have an old original Xbox lying around somewhere and, if you're really lucky, can find this game at a local game shop, preferably one that sells retro and vintage games.
If that seems like a lot of work for you, don't worry because there is a game coming out this year on Nintendo Switch and Microsoft Windows that's ben inspired by Jet Set Radio and Jet Set Radio Future. You can say it's the successor of these games since it's technically not going to be a third installment of the series.
